In this opportunity BoudoiGraphy had the pleasure to work with a wonderful woman who is example of constancy and show people that having kids is not an excuse to achieve your goals, in this case, get in shape and have a healthy life. “In 2008 I finally realized I couldn’t use my almost 10 and 8 year old girls as an excuse anymore for being overweight and unhappy.
I wanted a change and started with a simple gym membership, which then lead to meeting with Mark Eddy, a personal trainer, who I didn’t know then but was about to change my life for a lot of reasons. When we first met I thought, “Ok, this could be fun” until he trained me for the first time and I couldn’t barely get down the stairs for a week.
Going back every Tuesday and Thursday it then started to become addicting. Not only I was getting fit, I was having fun and both of us built a great relationship. At that time the gym was offering a trip to Mexico to the person who lost the most weight and body fat. So it began my competitive side kicked in, we started training now 3 days a week in addition with a diet plan I managed to come in second in all of Alberta. At that moment it wasn’t about the trip anymore it was becoming a lifestyle. In the mean time I was asked to compete in a fitness modelling contest? I figured why not? I love goals and was already well on my way. What I didn’t realize was I spent most of my time at the gym and non at home. Not long after competing my husband and I decided we just weren’t a good fit. Moving forward I took a break from the hard gym life and was going now to stay healthy but being more focused on raising my girls as a single mom. I have now added an amazing man to my life and two amazing kids completing my family of 6 now. We now train as a couple and love every minute of it.
Today at 43, we go to the gym to stay fit, healthy have fun and enjoy our life together. The gym will always be part of our life. Am I as obsessed about it? No! There is something to be said about wanting to be fit and live longer and healthier.”
At the end of the road all this hard work paid off. Just take a look at the boudoir photographs we made with this great mom, model and woman Jenn Overes.
